Christmas Every Day

Mark McAdowIt’s happened again! Christmas is here and gone. The anticipation and expectations are history now. Can you believe it? How was your celebration of our Lord’s birth? I trust you sensed His Presence in our worship services and other meaningful ways in your life.

It’s the week between. It’s not Christmas and not quite New Year’s either. It seems a little early to take down the decorations, especially since some of us just got them up or got electricity to light them up! There’s much to do, but most of us just want to take a break from the activities and try to get some rest. I trust you’ve got to sleep in a day or two this week or do something that relaxes you. We’ve spent a few days in Tulsa visiting our family and are eager to get back to the City!

Some of you are yet to exchange gifts with your friends or relatives, as they’ve been away. Others have been “exchanging” all week trying to find some good deals on items that you actually want or need! This Sunday I’m going to be sharing “The Gift Goes On,” as we learn to live with the spirit and joy of Christmas every day. The Scripture is John 1:1-14. I look forward to seeing you and yours!

Yours in Christ,
Mark

P.S. Thanks to each of you who sent Christmas cards to our family. We love and appreciate you. It’s a blessing to serve Christ with you at First Church. I look forward to 2008 with great expectation of God’s faithfulness and ours!
