- Mark McAdow
What a great Sunday honoring our veterans! Thanks to each of you who wore red, white or blue in honor of our current military men and women. The "thank you" video was very powerful and it was great to recognize and applaud our local heroes in worship. We can't begin to thank you enough for your service and sacrifice. You exemplify The Rotary International motto, "Service Above Self," and the words of our Lord in John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." We salute each of you!
Commitment is a missing element in so many of our relationships. It is one quality that separates wishful thinking from true devotion. I want to thank each of you for your commitment to Christ and First Church. There is no better place I'd rather invest my time, talent, and treasure than in the Kingdom of God through the local church. This Sunday we will affirm our commitment, as we place our commitment cards on the altar rail of First Church during worship and seek God for His plans in 2008.
Thanks in advance for your continuing generosity and faithfulness. You are loved by The Father and your Pastor too!
Blessings!
In Christ,
Mark
